Jennifer and Erik, owners of Taqueria Pato Azul, are also the owners of Bleu Duck Kitchen in Rochester, MN. After six years and building an incredible team that quickly became family, they were ready to explore new opportunities and that is when Taqueria Pato Azul was born.
Erik is originally from La Crosse so when a space opened up in the heart of the downtown La Crosse they knew that it was meant to be. Like Bleu Duck Kitchen, Taqueria Pato Azul is located in a historic building that they quickly put their stamp on. With vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light, they added vibrant colors and flair to an already beautiful space.
Now that the space was secured, it was time to build an approachable menu while still ensuring that each dish offered a variety of flavors and culinary experience we could be proud of. In addition to the tasty Mexican cuisine, we needed to make sure that we offered craft cocktails, boutique wines, and craft beer to complement the delicious flavors.
Taqueria Pato Azul has been a long time in the making and is only just the beginning!
